Petreto "Chianti Classico" DOCG 2021 - 750mL
The 2021 Chianti vintage is considered to be one of the most exciting in recent years, with some describing it as vibrant, fresh, and concentrated.
“Open and generous aromas of decaying rose, clove, dusty nuance, subtle bramble, dark cherry, and dried crushed thyme. Some air unlocks a tilled earth note adding to the complexity. Quite complex aromatics, with depth and array. The medium bodied palate is tighter coiled and cool in feel, with red cherry, crushed herbs, and cranberry firmly wrapped up in stacked, chalky tannins before a big cooling acid line pulls it long. A complex and classy Chianti Classico that needs time in cellar to unfurl.” - Tom Kline, Winepilot.com, December 2023
Grape: Sangiovese (95%)
Ageing potential: 8 - 10 years
Serving temperature and food pairing: 16 - 18°C great with Pasta and grilled meat.

The Petreto Farm is located in Rosano, a small hamlet in the Municipality of Bagno a Ripoli, a few kilometers from Florence, and extends along the Arno river valley over an area of about 30 hectares, 11 of which are planted with vineyards. It has been owned by the Fonseca family for over 150 years.
The continuous search for excellence in wine production has allowed the company to emerge in the panorama of Italian and international wine for the quality and uniqueness of its wines. Petreto stands out in the production of particular white wines from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris grapes supplemented by Chenin Chardonnay and Riesling , but also does not forget the Tuscan tradition of red wines by cultivating Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Merlot for the production of Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG and IGT Toscana wine.
