Movia 'Rebula', Brda Suho Belo Kakovstno Vino ZGP 2021
Grape: Rebula (or Ribolla) 100%
Grapes are fermented with the skins for tannic grip, moving the grapes into barriques to finish alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation as well. Ages 18 months in 225L barriques.
The bouquet is intense and expresses a rich intertwining of fruitiness with herbs. We perceive yellow apple, quince, ripe pear, and red grapefruit. Gentle hints of vanilla are intertwined with aromas of sage and thyme. The spectrum is rounded off by a pleasant scent of heated marl. The taste is balanced by minerality and youthful freshness, and we also sense a tannic grip. Long-lasting aftertaste.
Food Pairing: : Pasta or potato dumplings with creamy sauces, salmon or sea bass fillet

Located in the village of Ceglo in the heart of the Brda appellation, literally a stone’s throw from the Italian border, Movia is widely put the Slovenia on the map of the world’s great wine regions in the late 1990s when the interest in wines grown in former Eastern Bloc states began to flourish. The current generation of Movia is led by winemaker Aleš Kristančič who is as renowned for his passionate embrace of organic and biodynamic farming practices as he is for his larger-than-life personality and ingenious approach to winemaking. Today, Aleš primarily grows Rebula, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir — all without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides. The Rebula and Pinot Grigio are generally bottled separately while the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are used in blended wines.
